Are People upset about the Canidae Recall?
Canidae has been the best pet food company. It was a savior for all pet holders. One could get any dog food on Canidae. It was a disaster when Canidae recalled four of its dog food products back in 2012. It was an even more tense situation because the recall was the presence of Salmonella in the food.
People were worried about their pets and if anything would happen to them. People had many queries about what to do with the already purchased stock. People could not feed it then to their pets, and finding an alternative on such short notice would be difficult.
In all that chaos, Canidae still cared about its customers and decided to provide them with a refund. Canidae asked their customers to get a refund by sending the details for the same through mail or a website. Customers who bought the recalled product within a certain time in selected areas were liable for a refund.
Canidae’s Present Vision
The 2012 recall was the only single recall in history for Canidae. Since then, it is just growing more and more consistently. Now, the company is not only focused on producing high-quality pet food but is also futuristic and environmentalist. Bret Furio, Chief Executive Officer of Canidae, has something to say,
“Consumers are getting much more thoughtful about their consumption and how it affects the environment.” “They understand the limited resources our planet provides and our resulting obligation and responsibility to leave the earth at least as good as we found it for future generations.”
“From a business perspective, we are investing in the future with a mission-based approach,” Furio said. “Being bold and entrepreneurial means understanding that making important and innovative changes means investing time, money, effort, and resources. To bring our sustainability mission to reality, we recognize that this will have a longer-term payback and help shape the future of pet food.”
“There aren’t many pet food companies willing to put the required resources into sustainability,” Furio said. “We hope that if we do it right, and consumers love it, other companies in the space will have to take notice. If they copy us, that means that we’ve made a real positive impact on a category far behind others in sustainability, and we can change the world in our small way. Across our organization, I think that drive is what gets people out of bed and excited every morning because we’re pushing the envelope.”
